PM Modi to meet French President Macron in Mumbai, inaugurate India-France Year of Innovation 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai on February 17, as part of the latter’s three-day official visit to India.

President Macron will be in India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of PM Modi. During the visit, he will participate in the AI Impact Summit hosted by India and hold bilateral discussions with the Prime Minister in Mumbai. This will be Macron’s fourth visit to India and his first to Mumbai.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral engagements at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai at around 3:15 pm on February 17. They will review the progress made under the India-France Strategic Partnership and discuss ways to further strengthen and diversify cooperation, including in new and emerging sectors.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the talks will also cover issues of regional and global importance, reflecting the growing alignment between the two countries on strategic and geopolitical matters.

Later in the evening, at around 5:15 pm, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026.

The two leaders will address a gathering of business leaders, start-ups, researchers and innovators from both countries, underscoring the focus on expanding collaboration in technology, research, and innovation-driven sectors.
